4 month update

Here we are again...too soon I feel! It's time for another monthly update on Addison. Hard to believe, huh? Addison is doing WONDERFUL! Growing like a weed!! I know I don't notice it on a day to day basis because I am with her all the time but I pulled up pictures from the beginning of last month and I was looking at the outfit she was wearing. At the time it was big on her and the pant legs were too long so I had rolled the leggings over. Now they fit her just right. Crazy how fast they grow!

Her little personality is starting to SHINE through. I use the word shine because she is a little ray of sunshine. She is seriously the happiest baby. Unless she's tired or hungry you don't hear a peep from her. She is definitely more reserved and the kind of a "sit-back-and-take-it-all-in" kind of girl. Just last night she was playing with Olivia and Olivia would try to hand her toys or get up on her knees to be eye level with whoever was holding Addison. Addison would just look at her and see what she was doing. She would watch her hands, watch her play with the toys and crawl around, but she never really "got into the action." I think she will be the kind of person that is shy and quiet at first until she gets to know you. Just like me.

We have had a lot of firsts this month and I am thanking my lucky stars that I didn't miss a one of 'em! (My biggest fear, remember?)

She has started to suck her two fingers (pointer and middle) just like my middle sister, Brittany, used to do. I find it absolutely crazy how little things like that transfer to a new generation. Right now she more or less chews on them instead of sucks, but she definitely favors them over her thumb. She does take a passie but she doesn't like it unless she is going to bed. I'm glad about that.

She likes to dance. It's hilarious! We will stand her up and kind of bounce her like she is dancing and she will start to pick up each of her feet at different times. Mike and I get the biggest kick out of it.

She is consistently sleeping through the night. YAY! We put her down anywhere from 9-9:30 and she sleep until about 8 right on the dot. Here just the past couple of days she has been wanting to go to bed at about 8:45. I told Mike that I think she is going through a growth spurt.

She talks all the time! Her favorite sounds are "gooo" and "hiiii" and every now and again she says and "d" sound. Dang it, I bet her first word is going to be Da-Da.  Her favorite time to talk to me is when I get her out of the bath tub. I had started this because she enjoys her bath time so much that she used to scream when I would get her out, so I would lay her on the towel on my lap and start singing each time I got her out of the tub to make her think about something else. This quickly translated into Mommy-Addy talk time. I love it.

For the first time this month she giggled out loud. I had been waiting for it and when we got back from our fall break trip I was getting her out of the car and she did it. To be completely honest I have no idea what she thought was so funny. I got her car seat unhooked from the base, turned the car seat around and told her, "Hi," and she just started laughing. It caught me so off guard that I started laughing as well. So there we sat, looking at each other and laughing at who really knows what! Her little laugh is contagious and PRECIOUS!
BTW: For those of you who know my tree frog toes, take a look at her foot in this picture. She's doing the same thing! I laughed when I saw it!

I think she might be bashful. Whenever Fonda would tell her that she was pretty the other night she would grin and then turn her head into my chest like she was embarrassed.

At her 4 month check up Addison weighed 12 pounds 5 ounces and was 24 and 1/4 inches long. That puts her in the 25th percentile for weight and 50th for height. Lucky girl...she gets to be y'all and thin :)

I honestly can't believe another month has come and gone. I understand the saying time flies when you're having fun more than ever! Addison makes our lives so entertaining and I LOVE having her around.

Happy 4 month birthday baby! We sure do love you!

Fall Break

We are back!!! Mike, Addison and I had our first family vacation this past week while I was on Fall Break. Get ready for a complete picture bomb because all I did was capture our week together through pictures! It started with a trip to Lexington, NC for my cousin's wedding. It was beautiful! She got married at a vineyard right outside of Winston-Salem. We were lucky enough to make this part of the trip with my side of the family and they got to spend two whole days with my baby girl.

Addy got a little upset on the car ride to NC and holding Mommy's hand calmed her down. I didn't mind :)
First day of Fall Break started with playtime!
Followed by a nap with mommy...

After the wedding, my parents headed home and Mike, Addison and I went to Ashville to tour the Biltmore mansion. I've never seen anything like it...it's absolutely amazing! We found out that they property is over 8,000 acres. Holy cow! I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves. Get ready, it's stunning!

Mom, is this place for real?!

Ok let me just put this place into perspective for you. Mike is in the bottom left corner of this picture looking out over the balcony. I bet you didn't see him until I pointed it out, did you? This place is HUGE!

Someone found the fish in the pond

I told you. Amazing! I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone!

We spent a couple more days in Ashville doing some tours of the Biltmore and also a little shopping.
On this day we woke up and ate lunch at the Bistro at the Biltmore and toured their winery.

 At lunch

Don't judge. Yes, our baby toured the winery.
We stopped in the gift shop and Addison was amazed by the clocks.
Watching the clocks swing back and forth
I have about 500 pictures of her doing this. Brittany, my sister, used to suck her two fingers just like this. I can't believe that Addison has started!
 All tuckered out
Then we went to the Grove Park Inn in Ashville and had lunch. The view was amazing.

 and did some more shopping...
I loved the outside of this toy store!
After Ashville, we traveled the 2 hours to Gatlinburg to meet up with Mike's family for the weekend. It was a blast! We stayed in a cabin with the best view of the mountains I've ever had in the Smokies. My favorite part of the trip was when we took Addison and Olivia to the aquarium. In awe is what they were! Too cute!
