Thankful

Would you believe me if I told you our Thanksgiving started out with an afternoon of playing in the snow? It did, believe it or not. We started celebrating Thanksgiving on Wednesday with my side of the family and when we woke up Wednesday morning there were the biggest snowflakes falling at my mom and dad's house. I was so excited. I might be worse than a kid. I just couldn't wait to get Addison outside and let her play in it. I love spending time with her and her daddy, especially when it involves a first of some sort. She did love the snow...

Please ignore the fact that I have on my dad's Carhart's. We were not expecting to have snow, so I didn't pack anything to play in the snow in. It wasn't going to stop me from getting outside with my girl though...I do realize I am a hot mess though!

This is Addison's attempt at making a snow angel.

After we played in the snow, we ate and ate and ate. It was delicious!

then we played...

Addison enjoyed reading a book with Mimi inside her teepee

She also showed her BB the new game she likes to play on Mommy's phone

and ate a lemon (yes a lemon) while Daddy was playing cards.

On Thursday we went to another dinner, but with Mike's side of the family. Of course Addison was a hit there too!

I feel so incredibly lucky for all of the family and friends that are in our lives. I am blessed for sure!

Deck the halls

I've been in the Christmas spirit for a few weeks now and I contained my excitement until about 2 weeks ago, but I couldn't help it anymore. It was partly due to the fact that Addison and I were at the store one day and there were decorations already going up. Addison was mesmerized. She pointed and ohhed and ahhed at all of the decorations and lights. The more I thought about it, I thought about how much she would enjoy the decorations at our house too and since you really only get to enjoy the lights for about 3 weeks I caved and did something I have never done before. I decorated our house before Thanksgiving and man I am glad that I did. We are still in the spirit for Thanksgiving, but we are also in the spirit for Christmas around our house. It is kind of funny though because the Christmas tree started with ornaments evenly spread around the tree, but for some reason we have slowly seen a shift in the ornaments and most are hanging on the top half of the tree now. Hmm...wonder why that is ;)

Addison had a ball decorating the tree and I have to give her credit because although we've had to move the ornaments around, for the most part she has been leaving all the other decorations alone. One of my favorite things she's done so far is dance with the snowmen that stand on either side of our fire place. She spun the boy snowman in circles and was singing la-la-la to him. I melted!

I also captured some pictures in a Christmas outfit that I have had for a year now and I have just been waiting for it to fit. It's one of my favorites, so I put it on her early so we could get some wear out of it.

She's a girl on the move though, so I hardly get a picture of her standing still AND looking at the camera. This set of pictures was somewhat successful because she was distracted by the raisins she was eating. I even caught her saying MMMMM in a couple of the pictures.

I can't wait to see how excited she will be on Christmas morning this year. Last year, Santa visited of course, but she was way too little to understand. She's still pretty little and doesn't understand it very well, but we have been talking a whole lot about Santa (she even knows he says Ho! Ho!Ho!) and I think this year she will be just precious to watch!
