Merry Christmas

Addison really got into the Christmas spirit this year and it was so much fun for this Mama. By no means am I a Martha Stewart who can do all the cute things from Pinterest, but I can't at least try ;) I really have noticed lately that Addison is really into helping me cook, so this year we made lots of cookies it seemed like. Here is Addison making gingerbread cookies...

We also had a lot of fun making the salt dough ornaments that I do each year. I normally press her hand into the ornament, but this year I noticed that her little hand is getting bigger (tear) and it might not work next year. I am sure I will come up with an alternative!

We decorated the tree...

Learned about the nativity... (She is convinced the Jesus is a a girl...there's always next year!)
Played hide and seek with the snowmen...
And got really excited to have a matching PJ outfit with baby Belle.

Addison did a really great job this year talking with Santa. She loved him so much that she got to go a second time to visit Santa with Olivia.
Then her daddy helped her make cookies for her teachers at school.

Mommy took Daddy to a B. You class (yes, friends, he went) and it was so fun!
We even had a girls' night painting ornaments and drinking hot chocolate while Daddy worked late one night.

One of our favorite things to do this Christmas was make popcorn and drive around looking at Christmas lights. Addison really enjoyed all of the colored lights on houses and the blow up Frosty the Snowman that we saw quite often.

The closer it got to Christmas Eve Addison made reindeer food to help the reindeers fly from house to house. We mixed in a little oats and magic sprinkles. On Christmas Eve she scattered it around the grass so the reindeer would get more magic to fly.

Our family sure had a great Christmas filled with lots of fun time with family. We hope that your Christmas seasons was filled with lots of time with family, love and most importantly, Jesus!

Harriet came back!

Harriet, our elf from the NP, made a visit to our house again this year. Addison sure loves her elf and likes to see where she has landed each night after she returns from the NP. This year we noticed that poor Harriet had such a hard time making it back from the NP in time that Santa gave her her very own little door to help her get from our house to the workshop quicker than flying. She also was a little daredevil this year and bungee jumped from our stairs! Addison couldn't believe she did it! She also got a little mischievous one night and decorated our bathroom door with Christmas bows. Harriet is a very thoughtful elf though. She made Addison breakfast (reindeer doughnuts) one morning before Addison woke up. She also brought back a North Pole post office so that Addison could write letters/draw pictures for Santa and Santa could write back. Sweet little Harriet didn't stop there. She also brought a NP advent calendar with bible verses and activities do to as a family leading up to Christmas. Although Addison didn't quite get that part this year, she did enjoy moving the candy cane to the different pockets. We were so glad that Harriet got to visit with us again this year and we can't wait for her to come back again next year!

The Glitz

Oh my word! Addison, my sisters, my mom, and I were treated to the cutest little place in Nunsuch called The Glitz. Wanda, my mom's stepmother, planned a girl's day as a Christmas gift and I was so excited to go. The antique shop that's attached to the restaurant was amazing. I was a nervous wreck with Addison around lamps that cost $16,000- yes, you read that right- but she did great! It was such a fun, "foofy" day where we got to spend time together, shop and eat good food! I had never been before but had heard so many good things about it. It's definitely a place for girls although I saw a couple men. The decorations were amazing and the food was great. I had a chicken dish that my sister described as the best chicken she's ever had, then Brittany got peppermint ice cream for dessert that was to die for. I had so much fun! If you've never been I highly recommend making reservations!!
My cute little girl all dressed up and rest for girl's day
Oh peppermint ice cream!
The girls
Oh how I love her and those tiny little pig tails!

A Visit to Santa

Addy did so good this year with Santa. Last year she was terrified but this year she was so brave. She sat in Santa's lap, talked about how Princess Sophia is her favorite princess and even gave Santa a hug. She's really excited for him to come leave presents for her. Someone told me she's been a very good little girl this year! Mike and I were so proud of how brave she was with Santa!
