An update on Addison

It's been a really long time since I did an update post on Addison and she is doing so many new and funny things now that I thought it would be a good time for another. Addison is 22 months old now. How in the world are we 2 months away from having a 2 year old?! That is crazy to me! Addison is a wonderful little girl. She is outgoing, funny, caring, athletic and intelligent. She talks ALL the time and can say anything at all. In fact, the website that updates me on what a child her age should be doing says that she should know about 22 words and be able to link 2-3 words together in a sentence. I kid you not, I would bet Addison knows 150 words, maybe more, and can say a sentence with 5 or 6 words consistently. Her speech is amazing.

She really likes the new neighbors across the street and always wants to go play basketball with them when they are outside. They love her too! I swear they come running out of their houses right away when I take Addison outside.
Addison's other new favorite thing to do is feed the ducks that are in the pond right by our house. We often walk there during the day or after dinner and feed the ducks. She doesn't like when you just refer to "ducks" because there are ducks and geese. She is sure to let you know that there are both.

She also really likes Grater's Ice Cream...specifically the chocolate raspberry kind.

And has recently gotten into painting. We've done a lot of pictures that are now hanging in her new playroom.

She also really likes reading her bible at night and pointing to all the animals in the book. She will also point to Jesus, and a lot of the times will tell me that Jesus loves her. It melts my heart every single time. I hope she always holds on to the truth that yes, Jesus loves her!

Addison can say her numbers 1-10 (sometimes higher if she's feeling spunky) and can say her ABC's to S consistently. She will sometimes veer off at S but pick back up with, "Now I know my ABC's, next time won't you sing with me?!"

Still a favorite for our little Addy Bug is the park, but specifically the swing at the park. Often times we will go and she will not want to do anything else but swing. It might be because we've discovered she's a lot like her daddy and has a fear of heights.

Addison is still wearing size three diapers, size 5 shoes and depending on the brand, she can wear anything from a 18 months all the way to a 2t. She's our petite little lady.

She really enjoys bath time still, but now she calls it swimming. I have to be really careful, because she will indeed try to swim and will throw herself backward under water. She always comes up laughing, but it scares me to death!

Addison also likes to play with chalk.

A lot of the time I take an educational spin on drawing with chalk. Here Addison is jumping on different shapes that we have drawn with our chalk. She knows circles, triangles, hearts, squares and stars.

She's also really into watering the plants at our new house, and helping her Mimi and Papaw in the garden my dad has planted for her. I need to steal some pictures from my mom of Addison with her watering can helping out around their house. She also helps Mike water some of the plants and herbs everyday at our house. Every time she smells the flowers she will say, "MMMM smell so good!"

Here she is helping her daddy out in the garden

She is also obsessed with this Minnie Mouse dress. So much so that we had to sit in front of the washer one night while it was getting cleaned.

And of course she still really enjoys reading!

Addison also really likes to take it easy sometimes and watch some of her favorite shows on TV. Recently she has started watching Daniel the Tiger, but she still really likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse a lot too. I would also bet that we watch Frozen about 3 times a week and Cinderella is starting to get on her list of top picks.

I know she's my daughter, but man, she is absolutely amazing and the best little girl that there ever was! I could go on and on about her all day long (oh wait, I do!) but seriously, her daddy and I stand in absolute amazement at the most precious, mannerly, sweet, funny little girl that our baby is becoming! She's just awesome!
