SANTA!!! I KNOW HIM!!!

AND I DO NOT LIKE HIM!!!!!- Addison Fogle

We went to the mall a couple of days after Thanksgiving so that Addison could see Santa before the lines got too horribly long. We still had to wait about 20 minutes, but that is nothing compared to what the wait will be pretty soon. I was hopeful she would be excited because last year she loved him. While we stood in line Mike gave her last year's Santa picture and we made reference to it over and over. We also talked about how nice Santa was. Well, that didn't work. As soon as she saw the big man in red, she lost it. Now, to each his own, but I am not one to let her be scared when I can fix it, so I didn't want the "screaming child on Santa's lap picture." Instead we improvised. Santa disappeared, and we took a picture with Addison. Little did she know, he was up top being super quiet. So no screaming child picture, and no Addy on Santa's lap picture, but we do have a family picture with Santa and I like that a little better anyway :)

Harriet

The craziest thing happened last night. We were sitting in our living room having a tea party when the doorbell rang. Addison immediately shouted, "LIBBY?!" Because she knows that our niece usually comes in through the front door, but It was not Olivia. When we opened the door there was a cute little package with Addison's name written in it and a tag that said it was from Santa. So we brought it in and began to unwrap it. Of course it was really cold since it had come to us all the way from the North Pole!

Addison tore the paper off piece by little bitty piece and handed each little bit to mike.

When we got the package opened we discovered that Santa had sent us our very own elf to live with us during the holidays!

Addison loved the elf,so much in fact, that she kissed and kissed her. I think that's a pretty good welcome into our family. I guess this year we aren't following the "no touch" rule that is outlined in the book Santa sent.

Santa also said that we must give our elf a name, so Harriet she became. We are already having a ton of fun with her, even though she is a mischievous little elf!

Welcome to the family, Harriet!

Thankful

Would you believe me if I told you our Thanksgiving started out with an afternoon of playing in the snow? It did, believe it or not. We started celebrating Thanksgiving on Wednesday with my side of the family and when we woke up Wednesday morning there were the biggest snowflakes falling at my mom and dad's house. I was so excited. I might be worse than a kid. I just couldn't wait to get Addison outside and let her play in it. I love spending time with her and her daddy, especially when it involves a first of some sort. She did love the snow...

Please ignore the fact that I have on my dad's Carhart's. We were not expecting to have snow, so I didn't pack anything to play in the snow in. It wasn't going to stop me from getting outside with my girl though...I do realize I am a hot mess though!

This is Addison's attempt at making a snow angel.

After we played in the snow, we ate and ate and ate. It was delicious!

then we played...

Addison enjoyed reading a book with Mimi inside her teepee

She also showed her BB the new game she likes to play on Mommy's phone

and ate a lemon (yes a lemon) while Daddy was playing cards.

On Thursday we went to another dinner, but with Mike's side of the family. Of course Addison was a hit there too!

I feel so incredibly lucky for all of the family and friends that are in our lives. I am blessed for sure!
