Slumber party

I finally did it. My parents have begged Mike and I for a year now to let Addison stay the night with them. I might be a little over protective and want her with me at all times, so staying the night without Mamma wasn't an option. I then had to step back and think about how when I was little I so badly wanted grandparents that were involved in my life more than on holidays and special occasions. I wanted so badly to get picked up from school by them or have sleep overs or heck, just feel comfortable picking up with phone and talking to them. Addison is lucky enough to have two sets of grandparents that are so involved in her life! So....last weekend, Addison had her first sleepover. Mommy was nervous, although, who else in the world would I want her with besides my parents?! She did great and my parents were on cloud 9. They walked, blew bubbles, played in the pool, ate snacks and I do believe there was a picnic involved. This was the picture I received...

 

I think it was a success! I'm so glad my baby girl has such good grandparents!

It's football season!

Yesterday was the UK/ UL football game. I love football in the bluegrass. Sure, UK's football team is not the greatest, but the tailgating fun makes up for the team's skills! I'm not gonna lie, I love going to campus, sporting my blue and white, watching the pledges dress up and hop from tailgate to tailgate (makes me smile as it brings back memories), spend time with my family at the stadium and watch the CATS at Commonwealth. What a great way to spend each fall! Addison had a ball yesterday afternoon and so did her Daddy and I!

After the game my dad made a B-line (LITERALLY) to the drum line outside the stadium. They perform after every game and he wanted Addy to hear them. It was a hit!

We are all just a little obsessed with her. I took a picture of Anelle taking her picture. Shew, we are eat up with that little girl!

She would get to play the drums afterwards! She stole their hearts as she danced whiled the drums were being played. They came right over to her afterwards and let her beat the drum. They even offered to give her the drum stick, but I felt bad letting her take it.

Ah, fall, football and family. Great ways to spend your days! Oh and GO CATS! (which Addison can say, by the way!)

The time when I blacked my daughter's eye

It's not what you think. Really. Yes, my daughter does have a black eye, but of course I did not do it on purpose. About a week ago Mike and I went out looking at houses. Ours is about to hit the market, so we thought we'd better start looking. It was hot outside so I had sandals on. So we get out of the car, look at the house and go to get back in the car. This is when  I accidentally shut my sandal in the door. When I did, the sandal broke. We were on the 2nd of 4 houses that Mike had us scheduled to see and I refused to go in other people's houses that I did not know if my bare feet. Luckily my car is a pigsty and I found a spare pair of socks to wear while touring the houses. So we pull up to the next house, look at the down stairs, look at the upstairs and then we are headed down the stairs toward the front door. I am carrying Addison down the stairs because she's way too little to go down stairs by herself. I guess between me carrying a wiggle worm down narrow stairs and walking down stairs in socked feet, I lost my footing and fell down the stairs while holding Addy. As a mamma, your first instinct is to protect that baby. I managed to keep her from harm, but we bumped heads pretty hard. She cried so hard and I felt so bad, but other that the noggin-knockin' she came away unharmed. Because of the fall, my baby girl is now sporting a black eye and guess what I'm sportin'? A broken hand AND a black eye. Yeah. At least Addison is unharmed other than her little shiner!

14 month update

On the 8th Addison was 14 months old. Hard to believe that our little girl is no longer a little baby and is now running around all over the place and jabbering up a storm. Here are some fun stats on Addy at 14 months old:

-She whistles for pumpkin. Or at least tries to. It's so darn cute. She also tells Pumpkin, "NO!" while pointing that little finger of her's at her.

-She says so many words. I am sure I am going to leave some off of the list, but here is a few of the ones she's got down pat: See it, Passie, Bottle, Bubbles, outside, ball, sunshine,fishy, papaw Mimi, nanny, papaw, that, dog, no, that's hot, milk, aunt b, aunt boo, oh wow and done

-She knows the animal noises for a dog, duck, cow, lion, bird,  and monkey

-My favorite thing she says is, "Ohhh wow!" The face that goes along with her amazement is priceless.

-She took first steps on August 22. She is very steady now and prefers to walk most of the time over being carried.

-She says  some two word combinations like hi daddy, oh mama, oh wow, and that's hot (pronouced eeettt hawt!)

-she still loves to dance

- is very vocal

-She has 7 teeth that are through and is working on #8. Let me assure you, sleep is not good right now!
