Boo at the Zoo

One really cute little piggy made her debut at the trick or treating party at the zoo last weekend. I absolutely love boo at the zoo for so many reasons! For one our family loves the zoo and to add trick or treating to the zoo is just one fantastic idea. I also like it because the whole point is to make Halloween fun and not scary, which is what we think Halloween should be anyways! Addison was precious in her little get up. I love watching her discover new things and watch the joy on her face. She carried that little bucket right up to the adults to get her candy then she would stare in it in pure amazement. I could just eat her up!! I told my mom that everything is 10x more fun when you have a child!! You'd also be absolutely amazed at how much time and effort is spent on the event. I should have taken more pictures of the decorations but I may have gotten a little picture crazy with the really cute little pig that I got to spend the evening with. Hehe :)  It's precious( the costume and the zoo decorations), let me tell ya! Addison loved the decorations that were all about finding Nemo and the little mermaid. Go figure. Fish. Remember how she use to love the mascots though?  Well now we are scared to death of them! I tried to get her to take her picture with Ariel, but she wasn't having it!  Either way, picture with Ariel or no picture, we had a BALL at boo at the zoo!!

15 month update

The cutest little bug I know is now 15 months old and growing like a weed. I swear to you my child is THE funniest/happiest baby you'll ever meet. Her personality just draws you in. Like someone once told me: she's got the type of personality that you just want to be around all the time. I couldn't agree more. She is starting to become more opinionated and she isn't scared about letting you know her take on things.

Some but not all of the things that Addison is currently doing: climbs the steps unassisted, feeds herself, dances all the time, can point to numerous animals and objects in a book including lions, cats, dogs, birds, birds, elephants, turtles, swings, slides, balls, pigs, cows, tractors, balloons and more! She brushes Mike's hair and she will also help clean up her toys. When she wants something she will often say thank you when we give it to her. Sometimes this is prompted, but often time she does it naturally. We have a polite little lady on our hands :)

Speech: she is talking up a storm!! My father in law and I were talking the other day and we agreed that she definitely knows what's going on when you tell her something and she will follow your simple commands like, "Addison, you dropped your apple. Can you pick your apple up?" She says SO many words and even in two languages! No, seriously! We have no clue where she picked up Spanish (it wasn't from Mommy's work!) but when you ask her to say yes, she will reply with SI. It's so funny and Mike and I crack up every time she does it. The only thing I can think of is when she was around 9 months old someone gave us one of the stand and play tables that has a "Let's learn Spanish" setting and she must have learned it from there. Either way it's hysterical and we are proud!

Ok so here is what Mike and I came up with as a list of words that she can say. I really think we are forgetting some, but it's a lot!

She has 8 teeth now and I think we are working on number 9. Bless her little heart, I can't imagine how badly that hurts! She is 19.4 lbs and is 28 and 1/4 inches long. To put it another way, our baby girl is a tiny little thing! She is in the first percentile for her height, but they are not concerned because she is making gains.

Addison is still taking her milk from her bottle. She loves to drink from sippy cups, especially ones that have straws, but she prefers her milk in a bottle and since she doesn't weigh very much as it is, we are a little apprehensive of taking the bottle away. She is currently taking anywhere from 16-24oz of whole milk everyday and the extra calories are definitely needed since she can be picky with her food at times. I know some of you are judging us right now because she's still taking a bottle, but we are doing things our way and I think we're doing a good job at it ;).

Some of the things she likes:
 tea parties
 sweeping the floor
 books with buttons
 cows
 Elmo
Nemo
 doing laundry
passie
brushing Mike's hair
Mickey Mouse clubhouse
Being in her crib alone when she first wakes up

15 month album

Addison's first time seeing a train. She was mesmerized by it, then she started waving and saying, "Hi Choo-choo!"
