Fall Break

We are back!!! Mike, Addison and I had our first family vacation this past week while I was on Fall Break. Get ready for a complete picture bomb because all I did was capture our week together through pictures! It started with a trip to Lexington, NC for my cousin's wedding. It was beautiful! She got married at a vineyard right outside of Winston-Salem. We were lucky enough to make this part of the trip with my side of the family and they got to spend two whole days with my baby girl.

Addy got a little upset on the car ride to NC and holding Mommy's hand calmed her down. I didn't mind :)
First day of Fall Break started with playtime!
Followed by a nap with mommy...

After the wedding, my parents headed home and Mike, Addison and I went to Ashville to tour the Biltmore mansion. I've never seen anything like it...it's absolutely amazing! We found out that they property is over 8,000 acres. Holy cow! I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves. Get ready, it's stunning!

Mom, is this place for real?!

Ok let me just put this place into perspective for you. Mike is in the bottom left corner of this picture looking out over the balcony. I bet you didn't see him until I pointed it out, did you? This place is HUGE!

Someone found the fish in the pond

I told you. Amazing! I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone!

We spent a couple more days in Ashville doing some tours of the Biltmore and also a little shopping.
On this day we woke up and ate lunch at the Bistro at the Biltmore and toured their winery.

 At lunch

Don't judge. Yes, our baby toured the winery.
We stopped in the gift shop and Addison was amazed by the clocks.
Watching the clocks swing back and forth
I have about 500 pictures of her doing this. Brittany, my sister, used to suck her two fingers just like this. I can't believe that Addison has started!
 All tuckered out
Then we went to the Grove Park Inn in Ashville and had lunch. The view was amazing.

 and did some more shopping...
I loved the outside of this toy store!
After Ashville, we traveled the 2 hours to Gatlinburg to meet up with Mike's family for the weekend. It was a blast! We stayed in a cabin with the best view of the mountains I've ever had in the Smokies. My favorite part of the trip was when we took Addison and Olivia to the aquarium. In awe is what they were! Too cute!

Remember?

Addison, do you remember when you were small enough to fit inside your daddy's hand? Do you remember when we had to go out and buy you premie clothes because your newborn onsies were too big? Do you remember those premie clothes swallowing you, too?

Addison, do you remember when we had to buy an extra head support for your car seat because your head was too small to be supported with the factory one? Do you remember when your newborn sized diapers were so big that there was a gap in the front if them?

Addison, do you remember when daddy and mommy had to go out and buy you new passies because the ones we had covered up your little nose? Do you remember when we had to get you slower flowing bottles because your little mouth was too small for the Dr. Brown bottles we originally bought you?

Addison, do you remember when we looked at our first family picture we almost couldn't see you in daddy's arms because you were so small? Do you remember when Pumpkin made 2 of you?

Addison, do you remember the night we went to bible study and there was another baby there and for the first time mommy thought you were the big baby? Do you remember that it actually took mommy's breath away when she realized your not that little baby anymore? Do you remember how she squeezed you tight and hugged you close in that moment because it hit her that you are growing up and you're doing it way too fast? You probably don't remember that lump in mommy's throat in that moment either.

Seriously, where does the time go? You are so much fun right now and your little personality is developing daily. You now sit in your exersaucer, wear some 3-6 month clothes, eat 8 ounces in the morning, wear size one diapers and when mommy holds you your little body stretches all across her belly now. It seems like just yesterday you were my 5 pound newborn baby and I turn around and you're three months old. I love you in this stage as much as I did the previous one, but I want to remember every single detail and I will not look back and wish I had done something different when it comes to spending time with you. Father Time makes you grow up too fast. Before I know it you'll be going to kindergarten, prom then college. And one day I'll wake up and you'll be grown. I do not take any second for granted because time goes way too quickly. So my little baby, I will cuddle, play, hug, talk and do whatever I can with you because this crazy thing called life passes by WAY too quickly!

3 months

Addison is 3 months old. I can't believe that it has been 3 months since she entered the world and showed her daddy and I a love like we've never known. What am amazing blessing that God has given us. I can't speak for Mike, but I for one feel totally unworthy of being this little girl's mommy. She is the most amazing human being an we are blessed for sure!
Oh those hands! They are constantly in her mouth. So much so that I googled why she might be doing it. It's either because she has just discovered them, or she's in the early stages of TEETHING! What?!
Her cheeks...well she get 'em from her mamma. They are chubby! Mike said the other day they were resting on her shoulders. They're precious!
She is finally wearing size 1 diapers because she hit the 10 pound mark. Hard to believe she has almost doubled in weight because she's still so small!
She snores...it's cute
I love those little toes!
She is sleeping through the night on most nights! WOO HOO! Friday she slept frpm 9:30-8 and last night from 9:45-8:45.

She is very happy in the mornings! I love when we take her out of her swaddle and she stretches really big and then smiles the biggest smiles! No laughing aloud yet, but I am waiting for it to happen any second.

She is still taking 4 ounces at each feeding except in the mornings she takes 6.

I have noticed her head is becoming stronger and stronger. I barely have to hold it anymore unless she's sleepy...then she gets a little wobbly.

Just within the past couple of days she has started playing with her exersaucer and SHE. LOVES. IT!
In pants my girl wears newborn or 0-3 months for the waist but she can wear 3-6 months for length. Long and thin!
She has adjusted very well to mommy being back to work. Mommy on the other hand is still working on it, but she always grins ear to ear when I get home so that helps!
Sometimes you can see that she's got 2 little dimples. One on her chin and the other on her left cheek.
I don't know how it's possible, but every single day I fall deeper in love with Addison. I'm utterly and completely amazed by her.
She mimics some facial expressions when you play with her. I know this might not be the best thing to do, but if you stick your tongue out she will do it back at you. This might come back to bite us in the butt down the road, but for now it's funny!

Happy 3 month birthday angel baby. Mommy and Daddy love you so, so very much!

New toys

Addison has had a play exersaucer for a while now but her little head has not been strong enough for her to hold it up long enough to play. This morning I thought we would give it a shot and she loved it!! The lights and animal sounds were her favorite. Every time I think she is looking a little bit bigger though, I'm reminded of how truly small she is. As I watched her play and discover new things about this toy I couldn't help but marvel at the fact if how little and petit she is. She is so much fun and I can't wait to put her back on this toy again so she can play!
